Master of none

When I started CrossFit training I had no idea what it was (other than having a vague idea of it being a high intensity physical activity). I realized later on that it was combination of different types of activities: Olympic weightlifting, power lifting, kettlebells, body weight, gymnastics, and endurance exercises including rowing, cycling and running. CrossFit athletes are considered “generalists” rather than “specialists” because they train in multiple fitness domains and do not specialize in one domain over another. This made me wonder whether being a Jack (or Jill) of all trades and master of none is better than being a specialist?

I did some research and came across this series of videos by Brute Strength where a weightlifter, powerlifter, bodybuilder and CrossFit athlete compete for several days in different activities to see who comes out on top! I found this series super entertaining because they pit four humble guys against each other, in activities where some are clearly uncomfortable but still attempt to do their best! Great sportsmanship overall.

Watch them and let me know who you admire the most and why.
